Weekend Update..No this is not SNL

How was every one's weekend? Mine was busy, to say the least! Saturday, I headed east to St. Louis for a bachelorette party, and the answer is YES, there was a party bus. (If you've never been on a party bus, your life is seriously missing something, honestly). It was great to see friends who I hadn't seen in a while and let loose. My least favorite part? The long drive and massive headache that followed. Minor details, I suppose. I also made a quick pit stop at Trader Joe's and picked up some cheap wine (Two Buck Chuck, I love you) and some delish salsa. I really wish we had a Trader Joe's in Columbia! Are the grocery store gods listening?

For mother's day my parents hosted a family BBQ, complete with lovely weather and lots of pretty flowers. My dad smoked a few chickens, which might be one of the main reasons my dad was put on this earth..just saying, he's got skills. He also whipped up a loaded potato salad, we picked up this recipe from our chef friend Matt a few months ago, and homemade ice cream. I'll post the potato salad recipe later, but think..bacon, egg, and potatoes...go ahead, do it. For my beloved momma, my sister and I picked out some fancy perfume (Donna Karan to be exact), and printed the quote above and displayed it in a pretty antique frame. I had heard this quote before and liked it, but had no idea it was Abraham Lincoln. What can I say? I'm a sucker for sentimental gifts. It was a beautiful day.

I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. Till next time, lovelies.

And they just keep coming...

The adventures that is. I recently turned the big 2-4 and have vowed to make this year the best one yet. I am trying new things, hence the blog, and putting myself out there. On that note, I started my first Etsy shop today (roughly10 minutes ago). In the past few months I've become obsessed with making fabric covered button earrings and while giving them to my friends for free is nice, I thought I would try to make a pretty penny while I'm at it. I only have a few uploaded on Etsy right now, but I am working on getting more and more up and for sale as we speak (or type).

Any who, today has been a very long day, I even hit the gym (gasp!), so I'll keep this short. Take a look at my earrings and let me know what you think..last plug, I promise. I was also curious if any of you sell items on Etsy? If so, do you have any tips for me? I would love to hear them.

Have a relaxing evening! I think I hear Bravo calling my name....

New to this..

Here we go.
I have attempted to blog before but never managed to stay motivated. This time, is different. I have been inspired by strong female bloggers I love. The idea behind this blog is to archive things I love, things that inspire me and hopefully make some new friends.

Before we dive right in, a little about me: I am currently a substitute teacher and part-time crafter (and closet reality TV addict, shhh). All of this means, I have many stories and ideas to share with the blog-o-sphere, and I can't wait to get started!
